I've joined the 39 squares challenge that Amy from Inspire Co. put out. For her 39th birthday, she is stitching a free-style embroidery square a day. I'm stitching 36 as I turn that age this summer. I'm behind, I should have started on March 1. I've been trying to catch up . . . So, here are my squares thus far:

Square One



I was not very "free-style" with this one, as I really don't 'embroider, though I do cross-stitch. I used a Majolein Baskin cross stitch pattern for the egg . . . and then experimented with a "long and short" stitch to fill in the background. I liked how it ended up looking like straw.
